About Air-Dried Treats
AIR-DRIED VS. DEHYDRATED
The process of air-drying raw protein involves removing moisture using evaporation, not heat.
This naturally preserves the meat in it's raw state & prevents any damage or change to the composition of the protein.
While somewhat like air-drying, the process of dehydration involves cooking the protein with continuous heat at a low temperature.
Our Method
Our artisan method of air-drying treats starts with hand trimming each protein to remove the fat. We slice each ingredient, and they are then placed on trays and head into our custom-built shack to start the process. After 24 hours, the meat/fish are repositioned to allow them to dry completely.
Each product dries at a different rate based on the inherent water content in the protein.

Muscle meat is sliced in thin strips with the fat removed and is safely dried in 48 hours.

Heart, liver and spleen are nutrients dense with a thicker texture and dry for up to 72 hours.

Salmon, cod, anchovies and green lipped mussels contain the most moisture and can take up to 5 days to completely remove the moisture.
This is why these products take so darn long to ship!
Once they are dried and packaged, they do not need to be refrigerated to stay fresh.

Ambient temperature or room temperature is the current condition of the environment in which the product is housed. This is why cold weather, and rain will affect the drying turnaround times.
Air-drying removes moisture using only circulated air at various speeds 24 hours a day.
This process removes the moisture to below 8%, which inhibits the growth of pathogens, while retaining the inherent vitamins, minerals, & enzymes found within raw protein. With the moisture removed, you have a finished product that does not require any preservatives to keep them shelf stable for over a year.
The Raw Concierge air-dried treats are great for all breeds of dogs & cats- especially those with dental issues, senior pets, as well as puppies & kittens.
Because the treats soften from the saliva found within their mouth, all our air-dried treats can be easily chewed, swallowed & digested. You can also rehydrate all our treats and soften them back to a raw meat consistency by soaking in water for a few minutes.
